With the arrival of the PS2
the next instalment of Syphon Filter has not wasted any opportunity to
take advantage of its power, and now features smoother and crisper
Syphon Filter gameplay than ever, letting you have the chance to rid
the world of the Syphon Filter menace and save the world once again!
But wait, there's more - you create your own agent! Pimp him/her up the
way you like! But wait, there's still more - you save the world ...with
a team! That's right, partner up online against rough and tough AI as
you continue the quest of ridding the world of the Syphon Filter menace.
21 new missions and 100 new
weapons. Like the titles before, it does not lack attention to detail -
each gun has its distinctive sound, and many have their own special
features (for those who will notice).
The game can be played in two
different modes: Single Player and Online Mode. In Single Player mode,
you play traditional Syphon Filter one-man-army, complete the
objectives, don't fail parameters, and get everything done yourself.
Online Mode however, you can't do everything yourself - you will need
your team! Then you can get to that C4 in that building on the first
level by having someone give you a boost! With the C4 you can blow open
a shortcut instead of going the usual way in single player mode. So the
game differs slightly depending on one man or team missions.
Doing well on missions moves
you up ranks and grants you promotions, commendations and medals,
earning you clearance to use new weapons and equipment! Train up the
trigger-happy thumb/analog stick action again for zap-headshots and get
the awards rolling in! |

| STORYLINE |
From
a surprising but fateful appearance in the courtroom of a certain
Teresa Lipan who seemingly returned from the dead, Gabe Logan and Lian
Xing manage to expose the plot right before the judges, proving that
the secretive Agency was behind much of the menace after all. However,
Aramov also makes a flash appearance interruption the session with guns
blazing, assassinating Hadden on the spot and flees firing on the
entire courtroom. Gabe hunts her down
through the D.C. subways once again and his taken down. Weeks later she
escapes custody again. There is no information on her current
whereabouts.
The corrupt Agency is replaced by the
I.P.C.A, the International Presidential Consulting Agency, a new
government special agency that reports directly to the President, with
Gabe as its head, and Lian as its Chief of Operations, working with
Deputy and Assistant Chiefs Teresa Lipan and Lawrence Mujari.
Recent news reports viral
outbreaks in major cities all over the world bear a suspicious
resemblance to the Syphon Filter virus. I.C.P.A agents are deployed
immediately to investigate. Mujari lost contact reporting from Carthage
waiting to speak to Brussard of the Carthage Health Authority, trying
to find out what was going on there. It seemed like a firefight broke
out just when his last transmission was cut. Gabe and Lian head to
Uganda, Stone to Italy, and Imani will lead a team to Carthage to
investigate the outbreak and Mujari's dissappearance.
Gabe may have to save the
world once again. But this time, he's going to need you, me and all the
trained recruits he can get his hands on! |
