Shortly after the release of the hugely successful Syphon Filter, Eidetic released the second sequel of the Syphon Filter series. Syphon Filter 2 continued the exciting gameplay and story of the original and added another load of twists, turns, and loads of new weapons. 21 action packed levels of running, gunning, sneaking, and stealth, to make a superb follow up of the controversial Syphon Filter epidemic, and a new two player head-to-head mode for the not-so-single player experience, headshot thumb training and trigger happy times ahead!

Gabe Logan and Lian Xian are the Agency's top operatives. They're fit. Intelligent. Dedicated... but now they've learned too much, the Agency wants them dead. After Markinson's appearance in Rhoemer's missile silo, everything started to fall to place and make sense. The Agency was responsible for the manufacture of Syphon Filter all along, but ultimately wanted Syphon Filter back, where Rhoemer was simply an uncooperative part of the whole plot. Seeing the profits it could gain, the Agency planned to reacquire Syphon Filter from Rhoemer, and put it on auction where it would be sold to the highest bidding terrorist nation, in which the Agency could use their resources and expertise to protect itself from the outcome. Gabe is on the run with several CBDC agents, and Lian is held captive and is planned to be used as test experimental subject for the Syphon Filter virus led by Dr. Elsa Wessinger. Gabe and a group of cooperative CBDC agents are en route to Denver, when F-22 fighter jets, under direct orders from Secretary of State Vince Hadden, scrambled from nearby MacKenzie Airbase attack the C-5 transport. They narrowly survive the attack and few manage to parachute safely down onto the Colorado ranges below them. However, now downed and pursued by enemy ground forces, Gabe and the CBDC agents must regroup and reevaluate their next move. At the same time, Lian gains consciousness and must try to escape a tightly secured MacKenzie Airbase. Teresa Lipan, another rogue agent, stays in close contact with both agents as they must each handle their own situations to keep Syphon Filter from infecting the world.
